Show j Services held for Joseph R. Webster, Cedar City native Funeral services were he d Tuesday at the Cedar Fourth Ward Chapel for Joseph Reese Webster, 80, a native of Cedar City. Webster died at the Cedar Manor Rest Homo Sunday, May 18 of natural causes. lie was born in Cedar City on Nov. 13, 1888 a son of Fran-cis Fran-cis and Memilia Reese Webster. Web-ster. He has been engaged in the livestock business most of his life and was a member of I the LDS Church. He is also a veteran of World War I. Webster is survived by a number of nieces and nephews many of whom remain in the southern Utah area. Speakers at the services included in-cluded John M. Brown, Dr. J. S. Prestwich, and Dick Leigh with remarks by Bp. DeVon Reeves, who conducted the services. Jack Bess gave the prayer at the mortuary, invocation invo-cation was by Ivan Matheson and the benediction was by Keith Bess. Special musical numbers included in-cluded a vocal solo "Just a Closer Walk With Thee" by Harold Butcher, and a musical selection under the direction of Norman Lister. Burial was in the Cedar City Ci-ty Cemetery where the grave was dedicated by Evan Ca-theson. |
