Show Little League play opens Monday, May 26 Play ball will bo the word Monday, May 2(j when both of Cedar City's Little Leagues will begin their regular season sea-son play. Both the, American and National Na-tional Leagues will get under- way on that date and games will be plaJyed each Monday through Friday evening at the two parks through the remainder remain-der of May, all of June and well into July. Games each evening in both leagues will begin at 6 p. m. and under rules of Little League each game will be six innings in duration unless extended ex-tended through a tie. Coleman and Rotary clubs will open action Monday for the American Little League. Tuesday it will be Milne against Spilsbury and Kiwanis the fifth team in the league will get into action Wednesday Wednes-day as they meet Coleman. In the National League it will be Arctic Circle and Lions who will meet Monday evening even-ing in the opener. Tuesday Jones Motor will be pitted against Jaycees and Elks will not see action until Thursday, May 29 when they will tangle with Arctic Circle. It is also noted that other leagues will begin the following follow-ing week and that the Minor league program sponsored by the City Recreation Department Depart-ment will begin on June 10. |
