Show City Council Studies Water, Recreation Problems at Session At the regular meeting of .ie Parowan City Council on .Ionday night, Morris Ras-.nussen, Ras-.nussen, chairman of the city uiinary water system, report- ;d that 2208 feet of six and .ight inch pipe had been laid i tne cky system, some on I J00 Ncrth and the other on i00 East streets as a part of .he rebuilding program. He also recommended to the Jouncil that more of the existing ex-isting water mains be replaced replac-ed within the city in preparation prepara-tion for the construction of the new sewer system. This is suggested where existing lines are small, inadequate and would be in violation of state health regulations as being too close to the proposed sewer sew-er lines now being laid in the areas. He recommended that in these areas three-quarter-in. and two Inch pipe be replaced by four inch water mains, jomplete with fire hydrants to comply with the over-all plans for the culinary system. He added that it will take approximately ap-proximately 3000 feet of pipe to make these improvements. It was reported that a new pump for the well at the for-ay for-ay in Parowan canyon will je here soon, and that it will be installed and paid for n a cooperative basis between be-tween the city and fields. The improvement program at the city race track and rodeo ro-deo grounds was discussed by city oinciais ana councilman Rasmussen, who is working with the Red Hill Wranglers in making the program, was instructed to determine where the greatest need for improvements improve-ments were at that area. Councilman Earl Bunn, as chairman of the city recreation recrea-tion committee reported that .t the meeting where the county funds for recreational purposes were apportioned to the various units that the allotment al-lotment to Parowan City was reduced by approximately 500 from last year's approp-.ation approp-.ation which was $2500.
