Show I School Board Lets Bids for PHS received with Educated Suppliers Sup-pliers of Bountiful awarded the contract for an installed bid of $15,347.45. Eight other bidders participated, including includ-ing several from Cedar City and the surrounding area. Special furnishings for the science department were also put up for bid with Glade's Mill and Cabinet of Cedar City Ci-ty the low bidder at $7,400. Three other bids were received. Bids were also received for the remodeling of the old portion por-tion of the Parowan High School, but all were rejected as being beyond the means of the district. Superintendent Joe Reid-head Reid-head also announced that bids would be opened on an addition addi-tion to the North Elementary School in Cedar City at the board room of the district on Teacher negotiating committee com-mittee of the Iron County School District met with the School Board at their regular meeting Monday, however, no terms were arrived at concerning con-cerning contracts for the coming com-ing year. The board spent most of the : time opening bids for various projects at the Parowan High School. Three bids were received for the auditorium seating at the new high school and the award was made to the Utah-Idaho Utah-Idaho School Suppliers with a bid of $22,710.60. Another bid was submitted by another firm at a lower figure but it did not meet specifications for the project. The bid includes installation. Bids for carpeting were also Tuesday, May 21 at 8 p. m. Dates for the June and July meetings of the Sdhool Board were also changed to meet needs of the members. June meeting will be held on the 24th rather than the 10th and the July meeting has been moved from the 8th to the 15th. Board also approved the expenditure ex-penditure of matching funds to provide a new electric tyne- j writer for the Parowan Elementary, Ele-mentary, and Bruce Decker, principal of Parowan High School met with the board to present the school's proposed schedule for the next year. Decker indicated that the school would be moving into i modified modular scheduling schedul-ing program for the ninth, :enth and eleventh grade stu-lents stu-lents this next year. |
