Show Max F. Dalby Guest Conductor for CSU Band Concert MAX F. DALBY Max F. Dalby, head of the department of Music at Utah State University, will be a guest conductor at the spring concert of the College of Southern Utah band, to be held Sunday, May 19, at the CSU Recital Hall. i The concert, which is open to the public, will he held at 8:15 p. m. according to Harold Boyce, director. Dalby is in his eleventh year as director of bands at USU and students have come from more than 100 high schools throughout the inter-mountain inter-mountain area and other parts of America to perform with the Marching and Concert Bands. Dr. Dalby has taught summers sum-mers at the University of Red-lands, Red-lands, Arizona State College, Chico State College, Ricks College, Col-lege, and the University of Wisconsin. He is past president of Utah Music Educators Association As-sociation and of the Western I Division, Music Educators Na-1 tional Conference. He ha been a member of the execu tive committee of the nationr board of Menc and a membe of the natinal nominatin committee. He is listed ir Who's Who in American Edu cation. The guest conductor will conduct the Concerto for Two Trumpets with Mr. Boyce and Bryan Wood as soloists for the selection. He will also conduct "The Pines of the Appian Way" by Respighi, which will feature Nancy Johnson Silvester Sil-vester as soloist on the English Eng-lish Horn. The band will also perform "Serenade for Clarinet and Band" by Reed with Richard McConnell as soloist as well as "The Battcll" by Byrd as arranged by Jacob. 1 |
