Show Accident Victim In Serious Condition Listed in serious condition at the Valley View Medical Center Wednesday was Wm. Roberts, former College of Southern Utah student, who was struck by a tree in a logging accident on Kanarra Mountain late Monday after, noon. Roberts was listed in critical condition when admitted to the hospital Monday evening, suffering apparent injuries to the head and shoulder. X-Ray tests were expected to be taken Wednesday. Roberts was apparently alone when the accident oc-cured. oc-cured. He was contracting the felling, peeling, and hauling of quaking aspens and was apparently struck by one of the falling trees. Workmen on the scene administered ad-ministered first aid before carrying him approximately one-half mile to where a vehicle veh-icle was available to bring the victim to the hospital. Approximately Ap-proximately two hours elapsed between the time of the accident acci-dent and admittance to Valley View Medical Center. Roberts is a native of Moses Lake. Wash. He attended CSU where he served as a counselor in one of the CSU LDS Wards. Currently he is working on his Master's degree at Utah State University in Logan. He is married to the former LaVerl Pugh of Glendale. They have two children. The couple are residing in Glen-i Glen-i dale during the summer. |
