Show Living In The Escalanie Valley LIONS CLUB The Escalante Valley Lions and Ladies Night was held at the Community Center with a pot-luck supper and steaks. The new forest ranger, Charles Birkmeyer of Enterprise, was the speaker, after which a ballet dance was presented by Wendy Wood, Dana Clark, Christine Hunt and Christine Tait. Movies were presented by Bryner Wood of the 1966 and 1967 conventions. Guests for the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Walters of Kaysville, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Olsen of Caliente. Mr. Olsen is president presi-dent of the Caliente Club. WOMEN'S CLUB Mrs. Nellie Moyle hosted the Escalante Valley Women's Club at her home on May 15. Business was conducted by President Marion Woolsey of Newcastle, and the women enjoyed en-joyed playing yahtzee, after which refreshments were served. serv-ed. SPRING FESTIVAL The Escalante Valley Spring Festival was presented by the school Friday, May 17, to a large crowd of Valley and Newcastle residents. Each class participated in parts consisting of songs, dances, poems and skits. HERE AND THERE Mr. and Mrs. Reed Prince of New Harmony are here for the summer. Mrs. Yula Hunting Is recovering recov-ering at Las Vegas after three weeks in the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Moyle, Mr. and Mrs. Austin Moyle, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Moyle, Mr. and Mrs. Rodger Chambers and Spencer Moyle attended funeral services Saturday, May 18, at Provo for Donald J. Adamson. |
