Show WIN HONORS. Raymond Gardner, left, Brent Sorensen, center and Larry Lar-ry Wilson, of the Cedar High School won top honors in Sears Industrial Arts program. The trio was accorded watches for their efforts in Salt Lake City presentation. Cedar High Students Score High in Industrial Arts Three Cedar High students walked away with top honors in the Sears sponsored annual Industrial Arts competition held in Salt Lake City. State wide competition was held for seven areas of participation; Metals, Machine Work, Electronics, Elec-tronics, Woods, Industrial Crafts, Machine Drafting and Architectural Drafting. Each , area had a junior and senior division for high school students, stu-dents, one for beginning students, stu-dents, and one for advanced. Raymond Gardner entered a reloading press he had made under the direction of Mr. Wilcken, in the beginning machine ma-chine work competition and won first place. Brent Soren-son Soren-son entered a telescope he made in the advanced metals area and won second place. Larry Wilson, working in the Electronics department under the direction of Mr. Wilson entered a combination tuner-amplifier tuner-amplifier in the advanced Electronics division and won second place. Each of these students received a $60 gold watch as a top prize winner in the state in their particular area of competition. Prizes were awarded last Thursday at a special banquet held at the Beefeaters in Salt Lake. I |
