Show Iron County Girls Enter Days of '47 Queen Contest Two Iron County girls entered enter-ed the Days of '47 Queen Contest in Salt Lake City this month. They were Miss Linda Adams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clemont Adams, and Miss Eva Grimshaw, daughter of ' Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Grimshaw. Grim-shaw. Eva Grimshaw, left and Linda Adams represented Iron County in recent Days of '47 Queen Contest held in Salt Lake City. 0 , girls from Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Wyom-ing, and Arizona participated in the queen contest. As well as being a contest, the affair was a fashion show with dresses, suits, and gowns of pleasing styles and colors. Eva wore a light plaid suit with navy blue trim and a salmon colored gown. Linda selected a rose suit and a light rose gown. The lovely young ladies, sponsored by the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, represented repre-sented Iron County well, according ac-cording to Zella B. Matheson, county chairman. Mrs. Matheson, Math-eson, along with Mr. and Mrs. Adams and Mrs. Grimshaw, was in attendance at the contest. con-test. Miss Barbara Butters of Salt Lake City, a tall and stately blond, was selected to reign over the Days of '47 with Kay Davis of Tooele and LaVona Seeley of Bountiful as attendants. attend-ants. The coronation will take place Saturday, June 1, in the Assembly Hall on Temple Square in Salt Lake City. |
