Eyre got in trouble in the ninth frame but pitched his way out of it after loading load-ing the bases with a pair of walks. Allie promptly put the T-Birds T-Birds out in front with an opening inning homer in the second battle, but the Kittens Kit-tens came back with a strong sixth frame to defeat the T-I T-I Birds 14 to 4. The Kittens ' pushed in six runs in the sixth after trailing 3 to 2, then added another six in the seventh frame to pick up the one-sided victory. Hank Drogemuller suffered the loss, but relief from Reid Kimoto and Mike Erling failed to stem the late inning rally. Saturday against Westminster, Westmins-ter, the T-Birds pushed in eight runs in the first inning to really get the ball rolling and ended up with a 16 to victory. Two big blows were clouted, first by Steve Judd, a three run homer, and Nevens Nev-ens came back with a similar feat, a three run homer in the same first frame-Keith frame-Keith Murray was on the mound to take the victory for the T-Birds. In the second game, the T-Birds collected 13 hits to win over the Parsons 8 to 2. Erling got the victory, allowing allow-ing the visitors just ifive hits. The T-Birds wound up the season with eight wins and 15 losses, a pair of ties, and two games of no decision. Eyre compiled the best pitching pitch-ing record with four wins and three losses. Kimoto ended with a single decision, a win; Erling had one victory and two losses; Drogemuller, one win and seven losses and Murray finished up with one win and three losses. In hitting, Bruce Shaheen finished up with an average of .328 to lead the hitting followed fol-lowed by Allie with a .313 mark and Judd with a -292. |
