Show Plans Prepared For New Park in Canyon Mayor Loren Whetten announced an-nounced this week that plans for a park development in the mouth of Cedar Canyon have been completed. The overall planning, he indicated, in-dicated, have been prepared with the idea in mind that civic ci-vic organizations could be given gi-ven an opportunity to take on various phases of the development devel-opment over both a short and long range program. The initial phase of the park planning will include such items as a large pond for summer use as well as possible possi-ble ice skating during the winter months; a shelter, extensive ex-tensive tree planting, picnic areas of various sizes; rip-Tannine rip-Tannine of Coal Creek through the area, as well as a sleigh riding area for children during dur-ing winter months. Any. interested group or civic civ-ic organization is invited to meet with the city for assignments assign-ments in the park development. develop-ment. It is hoped, the mayor said, that sectionalized development devel-opment can be established in order that clubs, as has been requested, may participate. Some stages of the development develop-ment can be undertaken over a period of time as high as ten years, while others will require completion within a year. Development for large and small group participation has been planned and it is hoped that the facility will eventually eventual-ly be conducive for such things as family reunions which are popular during the summer time. |
