Show Pelleting Operations Explained By Ranch Manager Vern Pickrell, co-owner and, operator of the Bar V Ranch and Pellet Company at Newcastle, was guest speaker at the weekly meeting of the Kl wants Club of. Cedar City. Mr. Pickrell, a Kiwanian from California, discussed thp pellet l feeding program that the Bar-V Ranch has undertaken on the desert. He explained that an av-erage av-erage of 1500 steers are being fed and that the pellet mill, although originally planned for the feeding feed-ing of Bar-V cattle only, has expanded ex-panded to include custom pelleting pel-leting and also the development of a commercial pellet operation. The guest speaker indicated, that pellet feeding,' a relatively new operation, Is not developed to Its fullest extent at the present time; however. Indications are that feed lot feeding with pellets, pel-lets, has many advantages. Kiwanians and their wives will travel Friday evening to St. George to attend a division meeting meet-ing of Kiwanls which will feature fea-ture the attendance of P. Blair Ellsworth, Governor of the Utah-Idaho Utah-Idaho District of Kiwanls from Idaho Falls, Idaho. Clubs from St George, Richfield, Rich-field, Fillmore, Delta and Nephi in addition to Cedar City will be in attendance at the meeting which will be under the direction of Francis Childs, Leutenant Governor Gov-ernor of Kiwanls from Richfield.
