Show American Red Cross In Iron County Campaigns for Funds Fund raising campaign for the American Red Cross in Iron County Coun-ty Jumped off Monday with the beginning of a door to door campaign cam-paign that is scheduled to be completed by Saturday, Mar. 21, according to Royce Chamberlain, county fund chairman. The committee this year has pledged to contact every home and every business' In the county, coun-ty, and initial results indicate that workers, some 150 strong In the county, are meeting with fine reception, Chamberlain stated. Community chairmen who will be conducting the campaigns were named as follows: Paragonah, Alta Dalton; Paro-wan, Paro-wan, Mrs. Watson Adams; Summit, Sum-mit, Arden Richards; Enoch, Stewart Murle; Lund. Mrs. Alta Holyoak; Newcastle, Mrs. Charles Hart. Modena, Mrs. Charles Fllns-pach; Fllns-pach; Kanarraville, Mrs. Virgil Davis; Escalante Valley, Wayne Holt. In Cedar City Dr. Wendell Gardner is In charge of the canvass can-vass of the business district, and the residential canvass will be under the direction of Byron Anderson An-derson and Robert Linford. The Iron County Chapter of the Red Cross, a group that Is operating oper-ating throughout the year, Is headed by R. L. Gardner. Half of the funds raised In the county campaign will be utilized by the local organization, it Is stated. Although the Red Cross Is In operation throughout the year the appeal for funds Is confined to the month of March, whlcn has been designated by the President Pres-ident of the United States, Dwlght Elsenhower, as Red Cross month. An extensive program Is carried car-ried out on the county level, including in-cluding a merles of first aid classes, clas-ses, nursing classes for the housewife, blood procurement program, and many other daily services that are available, Gardner Gard-ner said. Funds raised during the campaign are used to carry out these projects throughout the year. |
