Show NEWCASTLE HEWS NOTES I By Norma Cbristensen i The Newcastle Women's Sewing Sew-ing Club met last week at the home of Mrs. Marian Woolsey. They organized their club and elected officers for the coming year. Those elected were Kath-erine Kath-erine Christensen, president; Re-Voe Re-Voe Hulet, vice president, and Bea Piatt, secretary. Light refreshments re-freshments were served after the meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Christensen Christen-sen were In St. George a few days last week attending meetings meet-ings of the Utah Poultry. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Piatt and four children went to New Harmony Har-mony last week to visit with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Piatt had their home suddenly filled with children when they were pleasantly pleas-antly surprised by the visit of their daughter and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Mary) Raince and four children of Mil-ford. Mil-ford. Mrs. Robert Clark and her daughter, Bonnie, of Cedar City, were also visitors at the Robert Piatt home. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Bums and two children of Cedar City, were visitors last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Verl Woolsey. J Derrel Christensen of Delta was in town last week on business. busi-ness. While here, he stayed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Christensen. Everyone around here was certainly cer-tainly saddened at the news of the sudden death cf Richard Snow of Pinto and St. George. Almost Al-most everyone here was either a relative or a good frnend of Richard Rich-ard and his family. A lot of the townspeople attended his funeral Saturday. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Knell, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Harrison, Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Christensen, Mrs. Effie Beacham, George Beacham, Carma Taylor, Thomas Forsyth, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Jones, Mrs. Harriet Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Tullis. Mr. and Mrs. Calne Christensen Christen-sen and daughter, Vickie, of Cedar Ce-dar City, were here Saturday night visiting with their folks. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hulet went to St. George Saturday night to attend a wedding reception re-ception of a cousin of Nita Rae. A Boy Scout banquet was held in Enterprise Saturday night to raise funds for safety equipment. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Wooley attended. at-tended. Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Hart, Sr. returned home from California Califor-nia this week. Their daughter, Mrs. Bob Nelson of Cedar City, brought them out and visited for awhile with the other Hart families. Also here was Mrs. Nelson's Nel-son's daughter, Joan Klnsey and her two children from Woodland Hills, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Trusten Hart and two daughters went to Hurricane to visit Claire's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Stratton. Mr. and Mrs. David Tullis returned re-turned home from Salt Lake City Ci-ty and reported their trip was successful, as Mary is feeling much better. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Harrison of Cedar City, were here Sunday on business and to visit with their friends and family. They were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kay Knell. Visitors and speakers at Sacrament Sac-rament meeting on Sunday were Uvada Stake High Councilmen Ara Martlneau of Enterprise and Wayne Lytle of Pioche, Nev. Mr. and Mrs. Page Knell and three children of Cedar City, were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Knell and Mr. and Mrs. Kay Knell. Jack Tullis, son ol Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Tullis, was ordained an Elder a week ago Sunday and his ordination was presented at the Cedar Stake Conference for approval. Mr. and Mrs. Mont Sorenson and four children, and Scott Tullis, Tul-lis, went to Alton Sunday to visit Jean's folks, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Baldwin. They went on to Order-ville Order-ville to visit Mont's folks, Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Sorenson, and especially his brother, Burke Sorenson, Sor-enson, who was Just recently released re-leased from the hospital. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Applegate were Don's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Bart Apple-gate Apple-gate of Kanab. Jack and Cleo Tullis, son and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ster-I Ster-I ling Tullis, were home over the I week end with their, folks and friends. |
