The guests were Mr. and Mrs. Dick Burns and son Merrill and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Holland. Sunday visitors in the valley were Mr. and Mrs. Lister Woods and family. They have spent the winter in St. Georpe. Floyd Enec of Ivins has been In the valley most of the week finishing his potatoes. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Gardner and family were in St. George and motored on to Phoenix, Ariz, on business. Word has been received that Mrs. Iola Thompson, former resident, res-ident, Is now Mrs. Iola Oleson. She Is making her home in Las Vegas, Nev. Iola was the first president of the Escalante Valley Val-ley Women's Club. Floyd Bentz of Beryl Injured his back In the Job and has been under the doctor's care for several sever-al days. He is an employee of the Union Pacific Railroad. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Lie-bran Lie-bran and family returned Sunday Sun-day to Manhattan Beach, Calif. Kenneth came for his family last Thursday. They have spent several weeks with Maureen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hunt. The quarterly conference of the Uvada Stake was held Sunday Sun-day in Enterprise. The guest speaker was Elder Alvln R. Dyer, Dy-er, assistant to the council of the Twelve Apostles. Mrs. Heber M. Holt of Enterprise Enter-prise was taken seriously ill while attending conference Sunday. Sun-day. She was given first aid at the clinic by a druggist who was attending conference. She is resting rest-ing at home and is improving, but still on the critical list. Mr. and Mrs. Gone Nelson and two children Bradley and Lisa of Yerrington, Nev., came to Enterprise En-terprise Sunday. Mrs. Phyllis Nelson Nel-son Is staying with her mother, Mrs. Heber M. Holt. List has been visiting with her aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Holt and Mr. and Mrs. ;Dick Jones while her mother takes care of her grandmother. Gene and Bradley Nelson returned re-turned to Yerrington the first of the week. Hal Tucker and Dick Burns of Beryl motored to Las Vegas Wednesday Wed-nesday on a business trip. Mr. and Mrs. Vayne Holt, are expecting Mrs. Holt's mother, Mrs. Grant Snow, of Delta, for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Moyie were In Salt Lake City the first of the week on business. While there they also visited Mrs. Boyles' Mother, Mrs. Vincent. Dewey Godard went to Salt Lake City with the Moyles for a checkup at the veteran's hospital. hospi-tal. He will re-enter the hospital hospi-tal in June for treatment. Guests at the Austin Moyle home this week are Mr. and Mrs. of C;rdcr.2, Q2.H! Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Force of Modena and their daughter, Mrs. Mitchell White, and children of Milford spent the week end of Feb. 22 with their daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Crltrhlow and family fam-ily of Ogden. While there they also visited their two greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren Tacy Hill and Chris Truman. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Force visited vis-ited In Milford last week end with their daughter Eloise White and children. Mrs. Etta Horton and her granddaughter Kim left Sunday for Ada, Oklahoma. She will be gone several weeks to take care of their property at Ada. Kim will I visit with her other grandparents at Oklahoma City. Mr. Horton Is an employee at the Bar-V Ranch. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Barlow have moved to Las Vegas where Mr. Barlow Is now employed by the Vegas Village. j John Smith was taken to the Iron County hospital for observa-' tion, having had an attack of ulcers Friday. Vern Frailey, former resident of Beryl, will be In the Valley for several days on business. , Hillman Dallcy of Cedar City was a visitor In the Valley Saturday. Sa-turday. In response to a request for reading material for servicemen stationed near Manila, Philippine Philip-pine Islands, Carrol (Tommy) Holland, USX, reports that they .have received several packages of books 'ind newspapers. He and the othei men express their sin-! cere thanks to those who sent the books. Tommy is teaching a. class In electronics at the base. TELEVISION IMPROVEMENTS PLANNED It has been reported that the Enterprise Television Committee has ordered in a channel changer chan-ger which ylll be used to bring in Salt Lake City channel 4, to be rebroadcast on channel 7. The committee Is also planning plan-ning to move their equipment up onto "E" hill as soon as it is able to get a power line built up there. It is believed that the added elevation ele-vation will make it possible to give television service to the entire en-tire Escalante Valley, Including the Modena area. Some volunteer labor will be needed for the construction of! the power line. PTA SCHEDULES ELECTION MEETING The Escalante Valley Parent-Teacher's Parent-Teacher's Association will hold its annual election of officers on Monday, Mar. 16 at 8 p. m. In the Escalante Valley Elementary School. Marian ANNOUNCE REVIVAL MEETINGSR Reverend Harold Dillman, pas-tor pas-tor of the Cedar City First Baptist Bap-tist Church has announced that the Southern Baptists will hold a week long series of revival, meetings at the Escalante Valley Community Center April 12 to 1 19. The Reverend Robert C. Me-Caulloy Me-Caulloy of Phoenix, Ariz., will i conduct the services, and the j meetings will be held from 8 tol '9 p. m. In addition the group will conduct special services on the 12th and 19th following the Community Sunday School services. ser-vices.
