Show Soil Conservation Workers Plan District Meet Representatives from Soil Con. scrvatlon District from the five-county five-county area of Millard, Beaver, Washington, Iron and Kane will meet in Cedar City Friday. Mar. 13 for an all-day SCS Zone meeting, meet-ing, it was announced by Alon-zo Alon-zo Chrlstensen, Newcastle, zone chairman. In addition to discussions on the district level and the Individual Indi-vidual problems, the sessions will be concluded with remarks from representatives of the State SCS office. Scheduled to appear at the sessions are Leo P. Harvey, president presi-dent of the Utah State Association Associa-tion of SCS discussing "Utah Association As-sociation Program and Work Pro gram"; J. A. Libby, state conservationist, conser-vationist, who will discuss 'The Job Ahead"; Tox Evans, area conservationist, stationed at Cedar Ce-dar City, will discuss the progress pro-gress in the zone. A summary of the sessions will be given by Lawrence E. Thor-derson, Thor-derson, coordinator of the state SCS committee, and the day-long sessions will be concluded with a tour of the structural portion of the recently completed Green's Lake Watershed project. All meetings will be held In the ballroom of Hotel El Escalante Es-calante and sessions will get under un-der way at 9:45 a. m. Friday. Sessions, under the direction of Mr. Chrlstensen, will open I with a welcome from the host I Iron County district of SCS followed fol-lowed by Mrs. Henry Jensen, state chairman of the women's auxiliary. Following Mrs. Jensen's remarks re-marks summaries of the various SCS districts 111 be given until noon. Sessions will resume at 1 p. m. with further district summaries. At 2 p. m. nominations for district directors will be called followed by the discussions by the state leaders. |
