Show I NEWCASTLE KZWS NOTES By Norma Chrtstensea Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Christen-sen Christen-sen went to Salt Lake City Friday Fri-day morning to attend the annual an-nual Utah Poultry convention. They returned home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Hulet were here from St. George the first of the week, visiting their sons and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hulet, Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Hulet, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Clif-ton Hulet and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Nor-man Hulet. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Knell and family went to Utah's Dixie Sunday Sun-day on business and to visit Charlene's folks, Mr. and Mrs. David Stirling of Leeds. George Beacham, Carma Taylor, Tay-lor, Effie Beacham and Thomas Forsyth went to Glen Canyon Friday to atend the dedication of the Glen Canyon Brodge Mr. and Mrs. Reed Prlsbey of New Harmony, were here last week visiting with their daughter daugh-ter and her family, Mr. end Mrs. Clifton Hulet. Melvln Hulet went to Las Angeles An-geles last week on business. Mrs. Nellie Hart accompanied him. She will stay In Monterey Park, Calif., with her daughter Mary Lou and her family. Charles Hart has to stay down there for a while so Mrs. Hart will stay there with him. Mont Sorenson. Charles Hart. Verl Woolsey and Don Applegate met with the Iron County Commissioners Com-missioners In Cedar City last week. They presented their proposal pro-posal for how much money they will need to complete the recreational recrea-tional area in Newcastle next summer. The money will go for playground equipment and lawn planting by the tennis court. The Esealante Valley Lions Club held its ladies night last Saturday in the form of a ban quet in the Esealante Valley school. The Newcastle Ward Relief Re-lief Society was in charge .of preparing pre-paring the meal and serving It. The proceeds from the banquet are to be added on to the Newcastle New-castle Ward building fund. The banquet was very nice and the food was delicious. . After the banquet, most everyone went out to Modena to the dance, sponsored spon-sored by the Esealante Valley PTA. Warren Piatt's children are over the chicken pox. We thought then they were the last ones in town to hame them, but Ja-neen Ja-neen Hulet. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Hulet, came down with them Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Piatt returned re-turned home Monday from Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove and Salt Lake City. They came to Cedar City by bus, and their daughter, Roberta Clark, brought them on home. They had a very nice time and stayed longer than anyone expected ex-pected them to. Chris Applegate and -Veldon Sorenson, cub scouts, and Mrs. Corinne Applegate, their den mother, announce the Blue and Gold pot luck banquet for Cub Scouts to be held Friday, Feb. 27 In the Esealante Valley recreational re-creational hall. Everyone who wishes to attend Is cordially Invited In-vited to do so. |
