Show I ENOCH-MIDVALLEY NEWS NOTES By Cot a Murie Mr. and Mrs. Vernlle Matheson Mathe-son visited here Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. RoyJen Carter and family spent the week end visiting with friends and relatives rela-tives in Orem. The Special Interest class of the MIA with Lillian Grlmshaw and Rua Jones as leaders, went on a hobby tour. The first stop was at Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Haight's home where they looked look-ed at Mrs. Haight's beautiful hand work and quilts. The group was served homemade candy at Haights. They then went into Cedar to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Williams to see the wood carvings and arrowhead collections of the Williams. They then returned to the church where Mrs. Frank Jones showed and explained their collection of sou-ven's sou-ven's they brought back from Germany. Also at the church Mrs. Grlmshaw had a coin collection which belongs to George Manning. Man-ning. Refreshments were served to the group. Mr. and Mrs. Oleen Hatch of Fillmore spent the week end visiting vis-iting here and in Parowan. Mrs. Hatch Is the former Clara Mae Grlmshaw, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George D. Grlmshaw. Arlen Grlmshaw spent Friday In Mantl where he went through the LDS temple with one of his missionary friends. The friend was being married. Arlen also attend at-tend the reception Friday night. Mr. and Mrs. Urle Williams attended the Utah Poultry convention con-vention held at the Hotel Utah in Salt Lake City last week end. They also visited with ' their daughter and family, the Art Maxwells In Bountiful. Mrs. Maurlne Grimshaw ar.d Mrs. Mildred Maxwell attended the 4-H Leadership school in Logan last week. Mrs. Maxwell has the seat on the Utah Advisory Advis-ory board which was left vacant when Mrs. Helen Jones moved to California. Dilworth Arfstrong and Miss Rhea Chidester visited in Salt Lake City with her folks and in Brlgham City with his grandparents grand-parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Armstrong, Arm-strong, and his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Denton Jones and Mr. and Mrs. George W. Grlmshaw Grlm-shaw this week end. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Barney of Cedar City were our speakers at church on Sunday. Cedar Stake will start a new series of Genealogical classes on Friday, Mar. 6 at 7:30 p. m., in the Seminary building. Two classes to be given will be "Introduction to Record Keeping," Keep-ing," to be taught by Vernile Terry, and "Research Procedures," Proced-ures," to be taught by Etta E. Jones. These classes are sponsored by the Cedar Stake Genealogy committee com-mittee under the direction of Joseph Jo-seph P. Betridge, stake chairman. chair-man. Anyone is Invited to attend. at-tend. Series will Include between 18 and 20 class periods, all to be held on successive Friday evenings. |
