Show League Games Settle Division Standings I Although two games remain I on the Dixie Division basketball slate, outcome of those games has no bearing on the standings ! in the league setup. Dixie, by posting a win over the Cedar Redmen, clinched the , Dixie Division title and a spot In the Class B State Tournament , and It loft the Hurricane Tigers In second place and the Cedar Redmen In third. Hurricane and Cedar still have a "hanee to get into the State CI t s B tourney, but they must participate in the region playoffs to win that right. Cedar plays Kanab at Kanab Friday evening, but a loss would not change the picture. Hurricane meets Enterprise and an upset victory here could put the Tigers and the Redmen In a tie for second sec-ond place, but the possibility is remote on the basis of previous league play. Hurricane defeated Enterprise 48 to 33. Cedar and Hurricane will now enter the Region tournament against the second and third place teams In the Millard Division Divi-sion to determine the third entry Into the State classic from Region 10. Winner of the Millard Dlvl- sion vill gain an automatic berth, such as Dixie has already won in the Dixie Division. The Regional tournament will be played In Hurricane, second place winner of the division, on Friday evening, Mar. 6. Ifuns-cane Ifuns-cane will meet Millard High and Cedar will meet the second place winner In the Millard DivhJosv Mllford or Parowan, depending ! on the playoff in that division. |
