Show Parowan Battles Delta Friday With Victory Necessary for Division Tie Milford 7 1 .875 Parowan 6 1 .857 i Millard 3 4 .429 Delta . 1 6 .143 Beaver 1 6 .143 With only two games remaining remain-ing on the regular Millard Division Di-vision schedule to be played this Friday, the question of a league champion Is still very much up in the air. Coach John Wood's Rams still trail the Milford Tl- gers by one-half game after lost wek's round which saw Parowan Par-owan dump Millard 59 to 36 and Milford squeek past Beaver 55-54. Milford is done with league play with a 7-1 record and Parowan Par-owan with one game remaining, has a 6-1 record. The Rams still have to play Delta at Delta and must win this one to tie Milford ' for the league lead. And beating 1 the Rabbits on their home floor j isn't easy any time and we feel I the Ram players realize this. The other game this week sends Beaver to Fillmore for a final game with Millard, a contest con-test which has no bearing on the final outcome, as Dick Jones' Eagles are already in the Region 10 playoff and that's the best or worst they can da I Coming back to the Pa rowan -Delta encounter, a win for the Rams would place them in a tie for first, a loss would put them In second place and a berth in the Region 10 playoff to try for the third Region 10 berth in the State Class B meet If Parowan and Milford tie for the league championship arrangements are already made for a play-off. If one is necessary, and we think it will be, it will be held next Tuesday Tues-day at 8 p. m. in the spacious new Millard High School gym at Fillmore. These arrangements Iwere made at a meeting of Region Re-gion officials held in Cedar City on Tuesday. The Rams and Tigers divided 'their games this year, Parowan winning 47 to 35 on the Parowan floor and Milford winning 50 to 46 at Milford. A rematch of the , two would be a real battle no matter where It is played. 1 |
