Annual income questionnaires have been mailed with December checks, and must be completed with the required information and returned to VA before Janu-ary Janu-ary 31. These punched card questionnaires question-naires are not to veteran, nor to widows and children of deceased veterans receiving service-connected compensation, as their eligibility el-igibility for compensation is not affected by their annual income, Neilan explained. Laws governing nonservice-connected nonservice-connected pension payments require re-quire that the VA obtain this income in-come information each year. Eligibility El-igibility for pension and the rate of payment depend upon the In-dividual's In-dividual's need, as determined by his other annual Income. These cards should not be folded, trimmed, or otherwise mutilated, as they will be run through tabulating machines when they are returned.
