Show So. District Makes Mother of Year Search The searth for the Mother of the Year 1962 is now on, states Mrs. Amos C. Hatch, who is a member of the committee from the Southern Utah District Federation Fed-eration of Women's Club, acting to select the representative from this area. Mrs. Hatch states that this Is an anuual event sponsored by the American Mothers Committee and the National Federation of Women's Club. The first selection is made on a district basis followed fol-lowed by state selections from whom a National Mother is named. nam-ed. All district mothers and nominees nom-inees will be honored in Salt Lake City in April and all state mothers in New York City in May. This program is not a contest but a campaign to honor Motherhood. Moth-erhood. Any individual, club, church or group or any organization organi-zation may nominate a candidate. candi-date. The selection committee for the southern district of the Utah Federation Fed-eration of Women's Clubs, comprising com-prising Beaver, Iron, Garfield, Kane and Washington counties has been appointed. They are Mrs. Homer B. Spencer, Kanab; Mr. Cleo B. Hatch, Panguitch and Mrs. Hatch, Parowan. Application blanks may be obtained from any of these ladies as well a-V help In filing credentials. Mrs. Luella A. Dalton of Parowan, a former state mother and a member mem-ber of the state committee, Is also prepared to assist any candidate. Applications must be filed with a member of the selection committee com-mittee before Feb. 10 since the-District the-District Mother must be named by impartial Judges before Feb. 20. Mrs. Walter A. Kerr of Salt Lake City is the state chairman of the American Mothers Committee Com-mittee and Mrs. Daniel A. Poling of New York City Is national I president. |
