Show Commissioners Establish Hospital Board An ordinance creating a new Hospital Board was passed by the Iron County Commissioners In their regular meeting Monday at Parowan. A change ir" 'lie governing or- .Conization of the Iron County hospital was brought about by the adopted ordinance to create . a new board. Under the ordinance the seven-man board will consist con-sist of a member of the commission, commis-sion, the Iron County attorney and five at large to be appointed by the commission. Administration of the hospital falls under the resonslbllity of Clarence Miller, chairman of the board and he will serve on the new hospital board as the repre- -scntative of the commission, it Is understood. Orville Isom, as county attorney, will also be a member of the board. Under the ordinance regulations, regula-tions, as passed, one of the five at large members of the board must be a woman, and consideration consider-ation to all areas of the county ' Is to be given In naming the appointees. One member will be named for a two year term; two will be given three year terms : and two will be appointed for : lour year term. In other action of the council, -.a low bid submitted by Lunt Motor Mo-tor Co. of Cedar City was accept- cd for the purchase of a Dodge car for use by the Iron County Sheriff's department. Three bids were received. The Lunt Motor bid was In the amount of $1163.-50. $1163.-50. Other bids were from Brad-shaw Brad-shaw Chevrolet for $1181.58 and from Thorley Ford, Inc. for la-18.. 70. All elective officials of the county were also given authorization authori-zation by the commission to attend at-tend the annual convention of the State Association of County officials to be held In Salt Lake City Jan. 17. 18 and 19. In addition addi-tion Haldow E. Christensenj chairman of the county civil He-fense He-fense and Jack Walker, road supervisor, sup-ervisor, were authorized to attend the convention. Consideration was given in the form of a discussion to the purchase pur-chase of loading equipment for the road department. Three bids, although not advertised, were submitted to the commission for consideration, but no action was taken. Commission Indicated that such an item would be purchased pur-chased in the near future. Charles Rasmussen, of the architect ar-chitect firm of Gardner and Rasmussen, Ras-mussen, was also requested to Investigate In-vestigate the possibility of utilizing utili-zing two special rooms in the ' new hospital, now under construction con-struction for detention facilities for Juveniles. He was to contact the State Department of Health, the responsible organization for Juvenile detention and the Hill Burton Federal agency, who Is coo)orating In the financing of the new hospital to determine the feasibility of the proposal. |
