Show Redmen Travel South To Tangle With Huricane Tigers Cedar High School Redmen will make their first road trip of of the current Dixie Division basketball bas-ketball race Friday evening as they travel to Hurricane to meet the Tigers. Tipoff time for the game has been set for 8:00 p. m. The Redmen are defending Dixie Dix-ie Division champions and they won their opening league contest con-test this past week by defeating the Dixie Flyers by a score of 46 to 41. Hurricane was Idle in the first round of play and Friday's bat-t'o bat-t'o with the Redmen will be the Tiger's first outing in league competition. com-petition. The Tigers have built up an Impressive preseason record but none of their games have been against similar opponents of the Redmen, which makes comparisons compari-sons difficult. Fans of the Hurricane area feel that this is one of the strongest clubs of the Tigers in recent years and they will be out to prove it Friday against the Cedar High Redmen. Coach Bruce Decker of the Red-men Red-men is hoping to smooth out a few problems that seem to be plaguing the Redmen before the contest and he expects to be at full strength for the battle. In the only other league contest con-test this past week. Enterprise, on their home court, pulled away to an easy victory in the second half of play and went on to defeat de-feat the Kanab Cowboys by a score of 54 to 39. Throughout the early part of the first half, the Cowboys were holding their own against the Enterprise Wolves Wol-ves but Bowler picked up a pair of steals, converted them to baskets bas-kets and hit a long one In the final seconds of play to give Enterprise En-terprise a 29 to 22 bulge at halftime. Kanab failed to maintain the scoring pace in the second half as Enterprise moved out to the final one-sided victory. |
