Although the Broncos picked up only one first place, team members seemed generally to show improvement, Coach Osborne Os-borne stated. First place was won by Deloy Farnsworth in the 120 high hurdles hur-dles and behind him in second was another Bronco, Dennis Peck. Other Broncos finished as follows: fol-lows: Low hurdles: Farnsworth, third. 440 yard dash: Harold Reed, second. 880 yard run: Roger Taylor, third; Carel Thureson, fourth. High jump: Taylor, fourth. Shotput: Don Riding, fifth. Pole vault: Lewis Sumner, second. se-cond. Two-mile: Rich Fowles, second. Javelin: Taylor, third. In the mile relay, the Broncos placed second behind Ricks College. Col-lege. It Is also interesting to note that a number of the second places for the Broncos were behind be-hind entrants other than members mem-bers of the Intermountaln Collegiate Col-legiate Athletic Conference. All schools of the conference, with the exception of Boise, which is expected to be the strongest team, were present at the BYU Invitational. |
