Show C S U Summer Tour Schedule Includes Six Projects The full schedule of tours sponsored spon-sored by the Summer School of College of Southern Utah has been announced by Summer School Chairman Dr. Morris Shirts. Six major projects are on the agenda ranging from one day visits to a three-week tour under the direction of Prof. Ther-on Ther-on Ashcroft. On June 15 a trip will be taken to see Project Smart which tests supersonic speed ejection equipment on Jet planes. June 16 to 18 a tour will be taken to retrace early Utah history his-tory to Include stops at the old State Capitol Building in Fillmore, Fill-more, Ft. Bridger, Wyoming, and along the Pioneer Trail to Salt Lake City. Hole-In-The-Rock and the Colorado Col-orado River are on the schedule for June 23-24 and the Indian country on the Navajo and Hopi Reservations will be visited July 1-4. Visits will be made into native na-tive homes to see artisans at work and the home life of the Indians. Longest trip of the summer agenda will be the July 28 to Aug. 17 history tour to the east. The purpose of the trip will be to retrace the early American Republic and LDS Church his-torical his-torical events through such places as Gettysburg, Nauvoo, Williamsburg, Yorktown, Carthage, Car-thage, Washington, D. C. Hill Cumorah and New York City. Final activity of the Summer School Tour Pivision will be a 10-day students tour into Mexico City. This is a minimum expense trip that will include stops at the Governor's Palace, Chapulte-pec Chapulte-pec Castle, pyramids, bull fights, floating gardens, shops, native dances, onyx factory and other attractions in one of the world's most colorful capital cities. Prof Ashcroft Indicated that all tours are' open to the general public and information is available avail-able by writing to the College. |
