Show Shade Tree Commission Urges Plantings W. Arthur Jones, Chairman ol the Cedar City Shade Tree Commission, Com-mission, calls attention of residents resi-dents of Cedar City to the fact that this is the best time to plant trees, and to the fact that the commission is ready and anxious to work with property owners of the city In getting a worth while tree planting program underway. Mr. Jones and his committee, including Albert Albertson, Francis Fran-cis Betenson, Clemont Adams, and Horace M. Andrews, are ready to help with the selection and buying of trees to plant on the streets of the city. These people peo-ple are ready to meet with residents resi-dents on streets where the type of tree has not been selected, to help with such a selection. Interested In-terested people residing on any such street are asked to arrange a neighborhood or street meeting meet-ing to discuss the matter and call upon commission members to attend at-tend the meeting. The commission can also help with the purchase of trees at a savings to fill In on streets where Fa selection has been made and the program started. Mr. Jones states that Cedar City needs many trots planted on the streets and urges property owners from all parts of town to cooperate. On streets where planting on the street is not advisable, ad-visable, a program for uniform planting on the owner's property can be worked out. He points out that systematic planting on the street is necessary, neces-sary, and the city engineer or commission members will lay out any street for this type planting. plant-ing. If planting is to be done this spring, he says, immediate action ac-tion is necessary, and urges everyone ev-eryone to act promptly. |
