Show NEWS NOTES FROM PARAGONAH By Kllma Lamoreaux Thanksgiving holiday season brought numerous people to Paragonah as family groups gathered ga-thered for their turkey dinners. A total of 41 family members were present at the William T. Davenport home for Thursday. Here from out-of-town were the Byron Montague family of Pay-son, Pay-son, Mrs. Rachel Smith and baby of Kearns, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Skinner and two children of Salt Lake City, the Jay Davenports of Summit and the Kay Smiths of Parowan. Mr. and Mrs. James II. Anderson Ander-son had all of their family home during the holiday week end. The Jim Low family came from Beaver for Thanksgiving Day. The Jimmy Andersons of Kanab arrived on Friday for an overnight over-night stay and Lewis and Miriam Limb and their youngsters spent Sunday here. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Robb were happy to have their son Ward and his family of Cedar City with them for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiv-ing. They were accompanied by VIr. Robb's secretary. j Mr. and Mrs. Orson Talbot enjoyed en-joyed having their sons Jim and Bob of Salt Lake City with them for the holiday, Also Mrs. Talbot's Tal-bot's mother, Mrs. Jane Gale of Beaver. Mrs. Myrtle Abbott had all of her family group together for a holiday dinner on Saturday. Paul and Carol Butterfield and their four children of Ogden arrived on Friday for an overnight stay and the Tom Abbotts of Murray came the same day to visit until un-til Sunday. The Howard Rasmus-sen Rasmus-sen family came from Parowan to Join the group and the Myron Abbott and Frank Lister families famil-ies completed the gathering. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Davenport Daven-port hosted 36 members at their home on Thursday. Mrs. Carol Farnsworth and daughters and Eugene Davenport came from Parowan and the Humbert Rosenberg Ro-senberg family came from Cedar Ce-dar City. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Edwards, Ed-wards, Mr. and Mrs. Iewls Davenport Dav-enport and Mr. and Mrs. Will Robb and the Alma Topham and Kay Lamoreaux families were also al-so present. Mrs. Lula Bastian was thrilled to have all of her immediate family with her for turkey diiv ner on Thursday. The Vern Mor-tensen Mor-tensen and Fred Dalton families came down from Parowan and the members of the Jack Dalton family were all home for the holiday. Also present were Mrs. Bastian's brother, Joe Robinson, his daughter Mrs. Beatrice Shid-eler Shid-eler and her son Paul and a granddaughter, Miss Susan Robinson, Rob-inson, who were all here from Colorado from Wednesday to Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Evans entertained en-tertained 25 family members at their home on Thanksgiving Present from Cedar City were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Blackburn and family and Mrs. Aurelia Bauer, whose vmln-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dono Webster came from Bountiful for the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Rulan Dalton and youngsters came from Parowan. Mr. and Mrs. J. Leonard Top-ham Top-ham had the families of their daughters with them for the holiday. hol-iday. The Harold Bradshaws came from Adamsvllle and the Blaine Jones family was almost complete with LeGrande and Carolyn Car-olyn Leigh coming from Ogden, bringing with them Mrs. Marie Jones and her baby. Mr. nnd Mrs. Ralph MeGookin and son John of Ixng Beach, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. James L. Maxwell and son Helen of Glendale were holiday guests of the Wilson Lund family and Mrs. Elizabeth Maxwell. On Friday the Lunds, Mi's. Maxwell and the McGookHs traveled to Mil-ford Mil-ford to spend the day iith the Kenneth Bartons. Saturday they drove to Toquerville for a visit with the John Maxwells and the MoGookins continued on home I to California. ' The Chester Robinson home was the scene of a family gathering gath-ering for Thanksgiving. Mr. and Mrs. Arch Lamoreaux of St. George were visiting here for the week. Dale Robinson and Billy Edwards were here from Salt Lake City. The Ralph Edwards family and Mrs. Olive Edwards came from Cedar City. Elmo Robinson Rob-inson and his little daughters and Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Robinson were also present. Twenty-eight members of the, T. A. Robinson family were together to-gether for Thanksgiving. Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Talbot and children chil-dren and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Harris and boys came from Salt Lake City. The Lowell Evans and Ronald Morten?en families and Mrs. Gaytha Benson and her daughters came from Parowan. Mr. and Mrs. Milo Stones, son Douglas and daughters Lorl Ann and Raylene of Ogden, arrived In town on Thursday for a holiday visit with the D. Amasa Stones family. On Saturday the entire family was together for an after-thanksgiving dinner. The Carlyle Mitchell. Mario Stones and Bud Green families were all here from Cedar City, and Miss Kathleen Bess of Parowan was present also. Mr. and Mrs. Hower Boardman drove to Kanarraville to spend the holiday with Mrs. Board-man's Board-man's sister, Luella Hawkins and her family. They then went on to St. George to see their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorin. Robinson. Mrs. Robinson has been quite ill. Mill Ingleby of Salt Lake City was a guest of Miss Annette Dalton and her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dalton last week end. Annette returned to the city with him on Sunday to continue her schooling at business college. Arthur Evans went to Salt Lake City on business the first of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones are on a trip to Idaho this week accompanied ac-companied by Mr. and Mrs. Albert Al-bert Smith of Beaver. Mr. and Mrs. Don C. Barton traveled to Panquitch to enjoy Thanksgiving with Edith's mother, mo-ther, Mrs. John Miller and family fam-ily members from Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Asa Topham and their grandson Clinton traveled to Salt Lake City on Tuesday to spend Thanksgiving with the Earl Topham family. They also visited with their daughter Mrs. Viola LeFevre before returning home on Saturday. Recent visitors to Paragonah were Mr. and Mrs. Jay Tippetts of Salt Lake City who came for a short stay with Mrs. Tippett's mother, Mrs. La sea Hunt, and sisters, Janet and Mildred. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. (Ted) Barton arj proud pare: J of a fine baby boy, born In the Iron County Hospital on Tuesday of last week. Mrs. Lava Hunt and daughters daugh-ters Mildred and Janet traveled to Stockton on Wednesday to spend the holiday week end with the Bernell Hunt family. Walter Talbot was In Kays-ville Kays-ville from Thursday to Sunday for a visit with his son Roy. A Thanksgiving family gathering gath-ering at the Doyle Robinson home Included most of their family. Mr. and Mrs. Burgess Robinson, Miss Ivy Robinson, the Kay Robinson and Victor Mathe-son Mathe-son families all came from Cedar City for the occasion. Hugh Robinson and his chll- Burton of Cedar City and Miss Helen Decker of Parowan Joined the Calvin Robinson and Errol Lamoreaux families for Thanksgiving. Thanks-giving. Mitchell and Randy Rob-inson Rob-inson remained here to spend the rest of the week with their grandparents. Mrs. Roka Thorton returned from the htspltal on Sunday and Is ci nvalescing at home. Mrs. Gladys Edwards visited In Cedar City last week with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. Claude Dix. She also accompanied accompan-ied the family to St. George on Friday for the wedding of her nephew, Dan Dix, and was present pres-ent at the reception the same evening. , Mr. and Mrs. Willard Dalton were here from Thursday to Sunday Sun-day for a visit with the J. L. Dalton family. Kenny Topham traveled to Salt Lake City last week end to attend a reunion of Bryce Canyon employees. Approximately Approximate-ly 50 young people were together for a fine time. The George A. Topham family fam-ily enjoyed their Thanksgiving dinner at the Fred Topham home in Parowan and almost the entire en-tire family was together. Mr. and Mrs. Marlon Engle-stead Engle-stead of St. George were here for the holiday with the Howard Jones family. Mrs. Carol Farnsworth and her daughters of Parowan visited In Paragonah Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Davenport. Daven-port. The Relief Society's annual bazaar ba-zaar will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 8 In connection with the regular meeting. Miss Sue Dunton was brought home from the hospital on Thursday Thurs-day last after two days there for treatment. The ailing girl is not making progress as desired. Mrs. Catherine Dunton suffered a severe nose hemorrhage In the early hours of Monday morning and after being cared for In Parowan Paro-wan for most of the day was taken to the hospital for further treatment A ruptured blood vessel ves-sel was causing the trouble. Mr. and Mrs. H. Revere Robinson Robin-son left for Provo on Friday of last week for a visit with the Gordon Manzione family. They were accompanied Dy Mrs. Donna Don-na Jolley and her children of Ce-day Ce-day City. |
