Show Speaker Selected to Kick Off Dimes Campaign Preparation for the annual March of Dimes campaign lu Cedar Ce-dar and southern Utah will get under way here next Tuesday when Dr. Royal Garff, director of English and speech at the University Uni-versity of Utah, addresses campaign cam-paign workers of the area. Dr. Garff will make two appearances ap-pearances In Cedar City on Monday, Mon-day, Dec. 7, speaking first before a civic group, then address ing the campaign workers of five southern Utah counties, Beaver, Iron, Washington, Kane and Gar-1 field counties, who will gather here for the kick-off address. Dr. Garff is a nationally known speaker, having appeared many times before groups in all parts of the country. His talks on subjects sub-jects pertaining to the field of salesmanship have been especially espec-ially well received. Dr. Garff will address the campaign workers at the Escalante Hotel at 8 p. m. and anyone interested in hearing this most interesting speaker is invited to attend. In announcing Dr. Garff s appearance ap-pearance here, Frank Milne, Iron County chairman of the March of Dimes, also states that Royce Chamberlain will act as fund drive chairman this year. County Coun-ty directors working with Mr. j Milne are Dr. Melvin Ccrry, El-don El-don Schmutz, Mary MacDonald 'and Alice Milne. Mr. Chamberlain points out that March of Dimes funds are used, in addition to care for polio pol-io victims, work In combatting birth defects and arthritis, and urges everyone, to support the campaign, which will be conducted con-ducted during the month of January.
