Show Appointments Made by Commission At the meeting of the Board of Iron County Commissioners in Parowan Monday appointments were made for handling the juvenile ju-venile detention office and facilities facili-ties in the county hospital building. build-ing. A number of city, county and state officers and their wives were named to the position, with the provision that they will work out a schedule of assignments among themselves. The wives were appointed because it Is necessary nec-essary to have a woman in attendance at-tendance when girls are being held at the detention home. Pay for the service was set at $1.50 per hour for the women and $2.00 an hour for the men. Extensive List Named to serve were Boyd Red-dington. Red-dington. An ordinance prepared by the County Planning Commission and dealing with mountain land subdivisions sub-divisions was presented by Commissioner Com-missioner Ivan Matheson, repre-ser.tir." repre-ser.tir." the planning Commission, Commis-sion, was approved on motion of Mr. Matheson and seconded by Frank Milne. The ordinance will be published in the April 23 Issue Is-sue of the Iron County Record. A delegation from Summit, Frank Dalley, Alma and Wilford Lawrence, and Ralph Green, met with the commissioners and asked that the county grade and oil a road in Summit South from Highway 91 for one block and west one block. The delegation was told that county officials will study the request and do the job as soon as practical. Permision was granted the Utah-Idaho Sugar Company to cross streets in the Beryl town-site town-site with heavy hauling equipment. equip-ment. Mrs. Ora D. Bohn was approved as deputy county assessor during the absence of Mrs. Max Willis, who is making a visit to Europe. Architect Charles Rasmussen, representing the firm of Gardner and Rasmussen, met with the commission to discuss changes in the sprinkling system plans and parking arrangements at the Valley Val-ley View Medical Center. On request of Senator Harvard R. Hinton of Lehi ,a meeting at the Parowan Court House at 8 p. m. on May 7, waa arrange at which a study and discussion of proposed state legislation will be made. Everyone interested is Invited to attend. Tax Sale Date Set Date for the annual May Tax Sale was set for May 28th at the Parowan Court House beginning at 7 a. m. The Utah Youth Officers State meeting was scheduled for May 13th in Cedar City. Further details de-tails will be announced later. The County Clerk was instructed instruct-ed to write a letter to Secretary of the Interior Stewart Udall, voicing the commission's opposition opposi-tion to the draw down of water in Lake Powell. |
