Show Funeral Rites Held Wednesday for Elizabeth J. Chester RequLm M&s was held In the Catholic Church in Cedar City Ci-ty for Mrs. Elizabeth Jones Chester, Ches-ter, 82, who died in a Los Angeles, An-geles, Calif., hospital Wednesday, Wednes-day, May 6 fol.'owlr. a lingering lllnetts. Requiem was conducted by Father E. R. Harman, pastor and following the services Interment was made in the Cedar City cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Chester were in southern California spending the winter months when it became necessary for Mrs. Chester to enter en-ter the hospital. The couple are Cedar City residents. Mrs. Chester was born on Dec. 25, 1876 In England. She served an apprenticeship In tailoring while there, becoming very efficient effi-cient In making both men's and women's suits and coats. This skill she used for a livelihood live-lihood after coming to the United States. She was also a trained nurse of exceptional ability, never nev-er hesitating to help wherever there was a need. Mrs. Chester met and married Thomas A. Chester in Salt Lake City In 1912. Mr. Chester has been an expert roofer for many years, operating an extensive business from Salt Lake City and later in Cedar City. Mrs. Chester served as his business manager. Her loss will be keenly felt by her many friends in Idaho, Nevada, Neva-da, California, as well as in the many communities in Utah. Besides her husband she is survived by one sister, now living liv-ing Canada. |
