Show Dance Festival Set by Cedar Stake Tuesday Over 300 young men and women wo-men of Cedar Stake will assent ble and present the annua Stake Dance Festival on Tues day evening, May 19 at the Col lege of Southern Utah field-house field-house at 8 o'clock. Under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Llnford, stake dance directors, all types of dances will be presented and three specialty numbers have been arranged for the annual prestation. A feature ot the program will be the appearance of over 100 girls In the "all girl" number and all will be costumed alike Specialty numbers will Include a number from the lndiai Branch; a dance by a Swedisl couple in native costume and a MIA youth chorus which wll furnish music for the Division II music festival to be staged at the Dixie Sun Bowl on Saturday May 23. All types of dances will be presented, including square dances, folk dances, waltzes, fox trot, swing, cha cha cha, tango, sarr.b.i and a precision number All wards of Cedar Stake will be represented In the event and each ward has been preparing for the event individually. Ward directors who have taught the numbers to the participants include in-clude the following: First Ward, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rich-ard Messer. Second Ward, Br?at Palmer and Verlene Winkle. Third ward, Mr. and Mrs. Junior Jun-ior Davis. Fourth Ward, Lee Sherratt and Joyce Hall. Fifth Ward, Mr and Mrs. Rob ert Seegmiller. Sixth Ward, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Thuet Seventh Ward, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Yergensen. Eighth Ward, Mr. and Mrs. Gail Duncan. Performers at the stake festival festi-val will also participate in the nine-stake Regional Dance Festival Fes-tival at St George. Over 1500 young people are expected at this attraction and the "all girl" dance will feature 500 young ladies. Mr. and Mrs. Llnford are also serving as co-chairmen of the regional event |
