Show Social Security Agent Available in Cedar City May 19 Changes in the social security law have made It easier for adopted children to receive monthly payments, Kesler T. Powell, district manager of the Provo social security office said- rf- If you have an adopted child '. and you are now receiving social security retirement or disability benefits, payments to the child can start as early as September, 1933, or the date of adoption if this takes place after September, Septem-ber, 1958. It is no longer necessary neces-sary to wait three years after adoption for benefits to begin. In some cases benefits may also be payable to a child not yet adopted who was living with and supported by a worker who dies, provided that the widow adopts the child within two years after the worker's death, or within two years after Aug. 28, 1958. Anyone who has questions regarding re-garding payments to adopted children should contact a representative repre-sentative of the social security administration in Cedar City at Utah State ' Employment Service on May 19 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p. m. |
