Show Iron County Fair Agenda And Dates Set Dates for the 1959 Iron County Fair have been set for Sept. 5, 6 and 7 with Monday, Labor Day, to provide the traditional climactic climac-tic day of the three-day celebration, celebra-tion, according to D. A. Stones, chairman of the Fair Board. This and other matters were taken up at an organizational meeting of the board held in Parowan recently. re-cently. It was also decided by the group to hold 4-H Judging and demonstrations as well as most of the Judging of open class exhibits ex-hibits prior to the opening of the exhibit halls on Saturday, Sept. 5. Entertainment features will Include horse racing and amateur ama-teur rodeo programs on Saturday Satur-day and Monday afternoons with a parade to be held Monday morning. Climax of the celebration celebra-tion will come at a historical pageant to be" produced on the final evening of the three-day meet. This is being written especially espe-cially for the occasion by Prof. Ira Hayward of Utah State University. Uni-versity. It will be produced and directed by Prof. Richard M. Rowley of College of Southern Utah. The entire county will participate partici-pate in the fair which will include in-clude departments In horticulture, field and garden crops, baking and canning, . art needlework, dressmaking, arts and crafts, flowers and 4-H Club work. Livestock Live-stock exhibits will be held in connection with the Livestock Show in Cedar City. Several hundred hun-dred dollars in cash prizes will be awarded to winning exhibitors exhibit-ors in the various fields. |
