Show I EHOCH-MIDVALLEY NEWS NOTES I By Cora Muris Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Sherratt were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Spencer and Mr. and Mrs. Colby Webster of Ful-lerton, Ful-lerton, Calif. They Intend to-visit some of the Western States before returning home. Mrs. Spencer Is a sister of Mr. Sher-rat. Sher-rat. Mr. and Mrs. Barnard Mathe-son Mathe-son and family of Salt Lake City visited with relatives here and in Cedar City. Barnard is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Matheson and Mrs. Matheson is a daughter daugh-ter of Mrs. Charles Maxwell. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Jones went to Murray to visit with their son Denton and his wife. Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Armstrong went to Brlgham City to spend Mother's Day with Mr. Armstrong's Arm-strong's parents, Bishop and Mrs. Frank Armstrong. Mary" Mae Nelson and Mildred Maxwell gave a pantry shower for Omah Lee Smith and Max Maxwell on May 8, at the Nelson home. There were 25 young people peo-ple attending and they reported an enjoyable time. I The Primary gave an Interesting Interest-ing program Sunday night. High school seminary students gave the program in Sacrament meeting Sunday. Theme was "Why I Am a Mormon." There were five short talks and three musical numbers and the Enoch Ward extends its thanks to the group for the fine program. A group of boys under the leadership of Roland Anderson 1 trucked their horses down to Dry Creek and then went on horseback horse-back to explore the Red Cliffs la that area. One of the boys, Roland Rol-and Lee Anderson, fell from cliff and broke his arm as they were getting ready to go swimming. swim-ming. They had a .two-hour ride back to the highway before they couid get him in a car to bring him to the hospital , for treatment. treat-ment. , , Mrs. Afton G. Hodges and sons, Allen and Billy of Ventura, Calif, spent a few days visiting with Mrs. Hodges amily, the William Wil-liam Grimshaws. Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Gifford and three children of San Francisco, Fran-cisco, Calif., visited with Mrs. Gifford's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. David Murie. She is a daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. James Apple-gate Apple-gate of Cedar City and Mr. Gifford Gif-ford has just returned from Guam where he has been stationed sta-tioned with the U. S. Army for some time. Gary Gibson took his Sunday School class to St. George Saturday Satur-day for baptismals. |
