Show MRS L. KERRY JONES Student-HousewifelsValedictcrian Mrs. L. Kerry Jones, Cedar City Ci-ty student-housewife, was named nam-ed class valedictorian to represent repre-sent the 40 students In the 1959 class to be awarded their bachelor bache-lor of arts degrees at College of Southern Utah. Dr. Royden C. Bralthwalte, director di-rector of CSU, Indicated that top honors this year went to Mrs. Jones, In the field pf elementary education. . Mrs. Jones, who combined her studies with a homemaklng career, ca-reer, earned a 3.79 average or just short of a straight A for her four years college work at CSU. Mrs. Jones is the mother of two children, Julie, age two, and Infant son Kirk. Her husband, hus-band, Kerry Jones, Is manager of Jones Equipment Mrs. Jones is the former Carol Ann Parry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gron-way Gron-way Parry of Cedar City. A graduate of Cedar City High school, Mrs. Jones has been active ac-tive in the Phi Alpha Beta sorority sorori-ty and the USEA Club on campus. cam-pus. She has been outstanding in campus and community musical musi-cal circles. She Is a member of the CSU string quartet and has played her cello In the Cedar City communHy orchestra for a number of years. The Valedictory address will be . delivered at the annual alumni banquet on Wednesday, May 27. The talk will be printed print-ed and then distributed at graduation grad-uation rites the following evening, eve-ning, May 28. Alumni banquet will be staged stag-ed at Hotel El Escalante and will begin at 6 p. m. Tickets for the events are now on sale by members mem-bers of the ali'mnl council.
