Show NATIONAL FOREST TIMBER FOR SALE Sealed bids will be received by the Forest Supervisor, or his au thorized representative, in the office Of the Forest Supervisor. Cedar City, Utah, up to and not latrr than 2:00 p. m., Monday, July 10, 1961, for all live and recently re-cently dead (sound sapwood timber marked or designated Tor cutting on an area of approximately approx-imately 2100 acres in the Pan-guitch Pan-guitch Lake Drainage, Township 37 South, Range 7 and 8 West. Salt Lake Base and Meridian. Dixie National Forest, estimated to contain live and recently dead (sound sanw,od) sawtimber as follows: 1,350 M ft. b.m. of ponderosa pon-derosa pine, 690 M ft. b.m. ot Douglas fir, 65 M ft. b.m. of white fir. and 95 M ft. b.m. of Engel-mann Engel-mann spruce, more or less. In addition there is within the sale area an unestimated volume of merchantable older dead (unsound (un-sound sapwood! sawtimber of all species which will be paid for at $1.00 per M ft. b.m. The minimum min-imum acceptable bid per M ft. b.m. for live and recently dead (sound sapwood) timber is: For ponderosa pine logs $6.05 which Includes a base rate of $4.35 for stumpage, and $1.70 for slash disposal; for Douglas fir iuks pu.iAJ, vv 1 1 1 v 11 uitiuuca ci rate of $1.35 for stumage, and $1.70 for slash disposal; for white fir logs $6.05 which includes a base rate of $1.35 for sturnpage and $1.70 for slash disposal; for Engelmann spruce $6.05 which includes a base rate of $-1.35 for stumpage .nd $1.70 for slash disposal. The terms "stumpage" Includes deposit for sale area betterment. The prices bid for stumpage for live and recently dead (sound sapwood) timber shall be considered as tentative rates which shall be reduced or increased by 0.5 of the difference between the contract base Indices In-dices and the quarterly average of the Western Pine Association index prices as calculated by the Forest Service at the end of each calendar quarter. In no event, however, shall the adjusted rates for each quarter be less than the base rates stated above. The stumpage rates for older deadj (unsound sapwood) will not be subject to quarterly adjustment. For ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, white fir, and Engelmann spruce, which have two base indices. (1) The high base index will be used when the average index is higher than such high base index, (2) no adjustment will be made when th: average index equals either of the base indices or falls between them, and (3) the low base index will be used when the average index is lower than such base index. A certified check, cashier's check, hank draft, or money order, payable to the Forest Service, USDA, In the amount of $900.00 must accompany ac-company each hid to be applied on the purchase price, refunded or retained In whole or in part as actual or liquidated damages according to the provisions of the bid. The right to reject any and all bids is reserved. Before bids are submitted, full information concerning the timber, the conditions condi-tions of the sale, and submission of bids should be obtained from the District Ranger, Pangultch.
