Show Travel at Zion Park On Upswinq Early Reports indicate Superintendent Frank R. Ober-hansley Ober-hansley announced today that 136,862 people in 42,770 cars visited vis-ited Zion National Park during the first five months of the year. Travel for this period Increased 8 per cent over that of a year ago. Visitors for the current month numbered 57,055 to better the record re-cord of May, 10 by 389. However, 10,188 people camped overnight compared with 6,395 this month last year. The 37 per cent increase indicates the growth of this activity in Zion, and the response of the public to camping facilities added here and the other National Parks under un-der the MISSION 66 program. |
