Show Third Ward Plans Fund-Raising Dinner Friday Night As one of its final efforts to raise funds for the completion of its new church building addition, ad-dition, the Parowan Third Ward will stage a dinner Friday night June 9, in the new recreation hall. Everyone is invited to attend the dinner, serving of which will commence at 7 p. m.. according to Jess Guymon, chairman of the tund raising committee. A program pro-gram will be presented during the evening under the direction of Mrs. Joe Stubbs. An attempt is being made to contact every family in the ward during the week with officers and class leaders of the Mutual Improvement Association in direct di-rect charge of ticket sales. However, How-ever, tickets may be secured at the door Friday night. It is hoMd that with the funds raised at the banquet, drapes may be secured for the recreation recrea-tion hall windows, the grounds may be landscaped, and final finishing be completed so that the building may be dedicated in August, according to Bishop C. 1 Heber Gurr. If it is necessary, in order to secure me neeoea iunns other affairs will be staged during dur-ing the summer, he said. The construction of the addition addi-tion to the chapel has been under way for a year and a half. It will provide the ward with a new recreation hall. Relief Society quarters and kitchen, and several class rooms, including a Junior Sunday School and Scout areas. The walls are of brick and immediately im-mediately adjoins the old building build-ing which was completed about 1918. An invitation is extended to other wards in the area to join the Third Ward at the banquet. All are to bring their own dishes.
