Show NEWCASTLE f By Norma Christensen Fishing season opened this last week end and our main street looked like a California freeway with all the cars and boats going go-ing to the reservoir. Saturuay found the town quite deserted as most of the citizens are fisher-Irten. fisher-Irten. Mrs. Geneva Gillies traveled to Cedar City this week end to attend at-tend the garden wedding of her grand-daughter, Sheila Gardner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kumen Gardner. Sheila was married to David Shrum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl V. Shrum of Kanab. Also up for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gillies and family of Las Vegas, and Mrs. Katherine Simpson and family, also of Las Vegas. They visited in Newcastle before returning to their homes. Saturday morning, Mr. and Mrs. William Hart and their children journeyed to St. George where Bill and Phyllis had their family sealed to them in the St. George Temple. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hart accompanied them. Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Tullis of. Enterprise also accompaned them to the temple. Visitors at the Warren Piatt home over the week end were Mr. and Mrs. Reed Prince andl family, and Mr. and Mrs. Vivian, Prince and family, all from New Harmony, and Mr. and Mrs. Tom. Ramage and children from Riverside, Riv-erside, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Mont Sorenson and children journeyed over the mountain to visit their folks, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Baldkin of Alton, and Mrs. C. F. Baldwin of Alton, n or Orderville. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Harrison and family were Sunday visitors in Summit, where Albert had the privilege of christening his first - grandc hild, the baoy daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger (Lydial Morton. Mor-ton. They named her Yvette. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alono Christensen this week were Mr. and Mrs. Cain Christensen of Las Vegas, and Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Thomas and children from Enterprise. Mrs. Mary Tullis and daughters daught-ers drove to Salt Lake City Tuesday Tues-day morning for a few days' visit with friends and relatives there. |
