Show NEWS FROM NEWCASTLE By Norma Chriitensen The Christmas holidays are always al-ways the time when families gather together to enjoy festivities festivi-ties with each other. Mrs. Arthella Taylor of Fillmore, Fill-more, was here to spend the holiday hol-iday week end witn her daughter daugh-ter and her tamily, Mr. and Mrs. George Beaeham. Mrs. Katherine Simpson of Las Vegas, came to town and tooK her mother, Mrs. Geneva Gillies, back with her for the holidays and part of the winter. Holiday visitors at the home of Mrs. Cassie Chnstensen were Mr. and Mrs. Caine Christensen of Las Vegas, and Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Thomas and fmily of Enterprise. En-terprise. Mr. and Mrs. Trusten Hart and family drove to Hurricane to spend part of the holidays with Clara's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Thorn-as Thorn-as Stratton. Then they journeyed journey-ed to northern California where they will visit in Redding with Trusten's brother, Allen Hart, and his family and other friends in Lodi. Jack Tullis traveled from San Francisco, California, to spend Christmas with his folks and family, Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Tullis. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Hulet and famiiy visited In St. George with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Hulet. They also visited in New Harmony with Ramona's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Prisbey. Mr. and Mrs. Uriah Jones and daughter Sophia visited Sunday in Kanab with Harriet's mother, Mrs. Israel Chamberlain, and with friends and relatives. Holiday visitors at the Boyd Christensen home were two of Norma's sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Valora of Torrey, Utah, and Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Engstrom and family of Ogden. Mr. id Mrs. Warren Piatt and family of Moapa, Nevada were Sunday visitors in town. Scott Tullis returned to his home after visiting in Provo and Salt Lake City at the home of Jerome Tullis and Mrs. Verue Sandstorm, tie returned Home by bus. Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Hart, Sr. left alter Christmas to southern south-ern California, where they will visit at the home of their daughter daugh-ter and her lamily, Mr. and Mrs. Vern (Mary Lou) Mallcy . Kathie and Mike Knell were home for the holidays. Kathie Is attending school at the University Univer-sity of utah in Salt Lake and Mike is a student at CSU in Cedar Ce-dar City. Linda Christensen is home for the holidays wan her folks, Mr. and Mrs Russell Christensen. Another daughter, Mrs. Beverly Evans of Cedar City, also visited during the holidays. The Christmas holidays always ! bring its share of parties. 1 lie Ihscaiante Lions Club held their annual Christmas party a week ago. A large crowd ws in attendance attend-ance and everyone had a good time. The primary and mutual organizations or-ganizations had their party Tuesday Tues-day night, and the Escalante Valley Val-ley School had their Christmas party Wednesday night. Santa Claus visited both parties, much to the delight of the youngsters. A New dear's Eve dance will be held in the Vallev Ri "creation I hall with Herb Knell's orchestra furnishing the music. Everyone is invited to attend. |
