Show Utah Shakespearean Festival Receives Giit for Costuming The Utah Shakespearean Festival Fes-tival has received a substantial gift from a national cosmeics distributor through the interest of an adopted Cedar City resident. Avon products Co., with headquarters head-quarters In New '.'ork City, has given the Festival $1,000 to be used toward costuming of future productions. The firm became interested in-terested in he Utah cultural event through Mr. Gustin O. Gooding, Cedar City, a retired Avon Products Co. executive. The Festival has been particularly particu-larly noted for the quality of its costuming since its founding in 1962. Through four seasons and twelve productions high standards stand-ards of beauty and authenticity have been maintained under the expert guidance of Fred C. Adams, Ad-ams, producing director, and Mrs. Lee Thompson, head designer and costumer. Plans are already well underway under-way for the costuming of the fifth season of the Festival, scheduled for Joly 11 through 30, 1966. skketches for three plays making up the repertcrie have been sub-. sub-. mitted to Mr. Adams and two other directors. Michael Addison of University of California at Riverside, and Dr. Charles Met-ten, Met-ten, Brigham Young University. The productions will Include "Julius Caesar," 'Taming of the Shrew," and 'Two Gentlemen of Verona." Drama students chosen by applications ap-plications from colleges and universities uni-versities across the nation will again participate in the event. |
