Show Hew Church Sites Selected In Growing Area Steps are being taken by the Cedar Seventh ward of the IDS Church and the Cedar Stake to provide new church building sites in the rapidly expanding southwest portion of Cedar City. The Seventh Ward, preparing to erect a new chapel as soon as possible had held property on 400 South between 600 and 700, "West streets, but ward leaders had decided that since off-street' parking for such a facility Is most important the site was not large enough to meet the needs cf the ward. As a result a new site Is to be obtained, and arrangements ar-rangements are being made to acquire a piece of property about, twice the size of the old site so! that ample parking can be pro-! vlded. I The new location la to be, south of 200 South Street and west of 900 West, property now owned by the Frank Thorleyj family. A study of the area indicates in-dicates that this should be an Ideal location for the new chapel on which work should, start lnj the near future. I The stake is also taking steps to acquire another site for future use in what is now the Seventh "Ward. The area Is expanding no rapidly that church officials feel that it will be necessary to create a new ward in the not too far distant future, and it feels that a site for a chapel, should be acquired before land In the area is all utilized for other oth-er purposes. The property being considered is located north of 00 South Street and West of 300, West. Officials also plan to cbtain sufficient land at this site on which to erect a seminary building build-ing for the contemplated new Tilgh school south of 600 South Street.
