Show Annual Christmas Tree Ceremonies at CSU Annual Christmas tree lighting ceremonies will take place at College of Southern Utah Saturday, Satur-day, Dec. 8 at 7 p. m. The huge blue spruce on the campus quadrangle quad-rangle will be lighted for the seventh year and a new tradition tradi-tion will begin at the same time in the college auditorium when the "Hall of Enchanted Trees" will be lighted for the first time. The traditional tree will be trimmed with some 500 lights and ornaments created by members mem-bers of fraternities and sororities on campus. Prizes will be presented pre-sented for the mast original creations. crea-tions. The Lettermen's Club on campus will once again be directing di-recting the decorating of the giant tree. The "Hall of Enchanted Trees" will feature Christmas tree decorations de-corations depicting a variety of themes including a society tree, gingerbread tree, drift wood tree, man.anita tree. Hawaiian tree, glass tree and foil tree. Decoration Decora-tion will include Jeweled, handmade hand-made ornaments, gingerbread men, orchids from Hawaii, pop-corn, pop-corn, cranberries and a variety of lighting effects. The display sponsored by the CSU Drama Club and club advisor Fred Adams Indicated that the display will show the many different way in which a tree might be decorated. The lighting ceremony will Include In-clude singing of traditional carols car-ols and other entertainment around the tree in keeping with approaching holiday season. Refreshments Re-freshments will be served by the student officers following the tree lighting. I |
