Show Funds Received for CSU Library Foundation The Library Development Foundation received another financial fi-nancial gift from the Reading Club, a women's club of 20 members mem-bers that meets monthly during the winter months. Mrs. Lillian Lunt, president of the group, presented the donation to Mr. T. A. Challis. It was formally accepted ac-cepted by the Foundation at its recent meeting and deposited in the Library Gift Fund to be used to purchase much-needed books for the library of the College of Southern Utah, said Prof. Challis. ; Vice president of the club is Mrs. Ethel Lund. Club secretary is Mrs. Emma Nelson. The Foundation was organized because of the Immediate need of the College of Southern Utah to expand its collection from 28,000 to 70,000 volumes. This is the second donation from a local women's club. There has also been response from individuals in giving fine books from their own libraries. Lfsts of such (l'inations will be published monthly. The college and the Foundation appreciate the support of our women's clubs and of the citizens who have responded re-sponded to fill this need. , Funds are most urgently needed. need-ed. Gifts of books are very much appreciated. It is Foundation policy, however, to reserve the right, if books are duplicates beyond the need of the College Library, to make such volumes available to the Memorial Library Libra-ry or other southern Utah libraries libra-ries with a need foe them. |
