Show Annual Bull Sale Prices Hit Below Average Average prices at the Third Annual Utah Hereford Bull Sale staged In Cedar City Monday and Tuesday fell below other area ales, it was reported by Snell Swenson, secretary of the association. asso-ciation. A total of 51 bulls were sold at auction Tuesday afternoon to conclude the two-day event and they brought an average price of $449.66 per head. The consignment by 17 of the top producers of the state was rated as one of the best in the Intermountain area this year by M. H. Lack of demand, however, how-ever, held the prices down to among the lowest in a similar area. Two of the top consigners to the sale were Winterton Bros, of Kamas and Peterson Bros, of Og-den, Og-den, who had the grand champion champ-ion and the reserve champions, respectively. They also received the top money of the sale and won other honors in the Judging, by class, which was conducted by George Henderson of the Department De-partment of Animal Husbandry at Utah State University. The grand champion, first In the ring Tuesday, to begin the auction brought $875 from Kay Taft and Sons of Bicknell, Wayne County. That price was topped by the reserve bull of Peterson Bros, which brought the highest price In the sale, $950 from Lincoln Lin-coln Cropper of Deseret In Millard Mil-lard County. The 51 bulls auctioned from an Initial consignment of over 70, brought total sales of slirhtlv less tnan $23,000. Nine of the bulls were sifted Monday, prior to Judging. Conducting the auction Tuesday Tues-day was Howard Brown of Woodland, Wood-land, Calif. In Judging Monday, six classes were designated according to date of birth of the animals: First and second places in each class were as follows: .
