Show Manzicne Slayers Make Appeal To Board of Pardons If the State Board of Pardons turns down the appeal of the two convicted arid condemned slayers of Howard (Dul;e) Man-zione, Man-zione, the men will again have to be brought to court at I'aio-wan I'aio-wan for resentencing. This situation arose from the fact that Verne Alfred Rraasch. 21, and Molvin LeRoy Sullivan, 21 had been sentenced to be executed ex-ecuted on Aug. 24, but the Board of Pardons does not meet until Aug. 29. Reprieves were granted to the two men by Gov. J. Bracken Lee, at the request of the men so they could present their appeal for commutation to life imprisonment imprison-ment to the Board of Pardons. In commenting on the case and many messages from southern Utah asking him to deny the requests, re-quests, the governor stated that he felt all persons sentenced to death should be permitted to exhaust ex-haust every legal recourse, no matter how brutal the crime. |
