Show Staiching Daik Cottons and Rayons Soften two or three tablespoons of gum arabic in cold water. Then mix in one quart of hot water. Use the same way as regular reg-ular starch. You may make the solution stronger if desired. This solution does not leave a white substance on dark fabrics as regular reg-ular starch tends to do. Another way to stiffen dark fabrics is with a gelatin dip. Soften two tablespoons of granulated gran-ulated gelatin in a little cold water, then dissolve it in two or three quarts of boiling water, and let cool to lukewarm. Dip garment in the solution, squeeze and dry. |
