Show City Building Costs Slightly Over Last Year's Figures Warren M. Cox, city building inspector, reports that total building build-ing costs for which building permits per-mits have been Issued during the first six months of 1955 is above that of the first six months of 1954, and that early July permits are running ahead of the same period of last year. Building permits Issued to the end of June, 1955, is reported at $3G9,2G7 as compared with $3G2,-629 $3G2,-629 during the first six months of 1954. The 1955 permits Include '25 homes at a total cost of $254,337, with $71,700 for non-residential construction and $43,230 for alterations al-terations and repairs. From January Jan-uary to July, 1954, 20 permits for new homes were issued at a total to-tal cost of $224,dD0, and alterations altera-tions and repairs were also down to $27,279.00. However, permits for non-residential construction was considerably higher than this year. The 1954 figure was $111,350. |
