DAVIE Through the efforts of the Cedar Ce-dar Stake M I A Special Interest Committee fDr. R. G. Williams, Y M M I A leader and Irene S. Wasden, Y W M I A leader) two special programs are being brought to the people of Cedar City and surrounding communities communi-ties this month. Some may well ask, "Who is included in the Special Interest group; is it Just for L D S members?" mem-bers?" The answer is "Definitely "Definite-ly not." The program sponsored by the M I A Special Interest groups are open to everyone regardless re-gardless of church affiliations or attendance. It is a program set up to bring matters of timely and special Interest to all who may be interested. The first program to be presented pre-sented will be held at the L D S Institute next Sunday evening, July 17, at 8. The evening's entertainment en-tertainment will consist of a film by Paul E. Felt, Institute director; direct-or; vocal solo by Ralph Hafen and accordion music by Mrs. Richard Dover and some of her students. Also light refreshments will be served. Davie of Milford will be the guest speaker. Dr. Davie comes to us as an authority on Civil Defense subjects. sub-jects. His program proved to be one of the outstanding events presented during Leadership Week in Provo this summer. He is the Beaver County director of Civil Defense and attended "Open Shop" at Las Vegas. As much information in-formation as possible on subjects pertinent to our special locality locali-ty will be presented by him in the time allowed. He will also show a film taken at Yucca Flats of the "Defense City" both before be-fore and after bombing. It is the hope of the committees commit-tees in charge that members from every home in Iron County will sense the vital need for learning more about our part in the Civil Defense program and take advantage ad-vantage of this opportunity while it is available. |
